Susan, a former English teacher and juvenile court judge, brings a lifetime of wisdom to her friendship with Emma through the Be A Friend program at YAC. Emma was forced to live unsheltered for over a year while attending school. Susan was drawn to the opportunity to connect with Emma and offer guidance and encouragement. Emma enjoys their time together and values the perspective Susan brings to their conversations. Together, they are creating a bond built on trust, encouragement, and mutual respect.
