Bailey, an educator at UCSD, became a mentor-friend through The Teaching and Learning Collaborative (TLC)‘s partnership with Be A Friend and was matched with Blessing, a vibrant and driven high school senior. Their time together has been filled with support, creativity, and real talk. Blessing, who has faced housing insecurity, says, “She’s real cool and I like her a lot.” With Bailey’s help, Blessing has chosen to attend Cal State Dominguez Hills, and dreams of one day owning a business and earning a Master’s degree. Their friendship shows what’s possible when connection meets care.
