Lori’s journey from homelessness to stability is a heartwarming story of support, determination, and community.
When Lori was newly housed, her PATH Homeless Street Outreach Worker recognized that she needed additional support to navigate the complexities of renewing her lease for another year. With her lease successfully renewed, Lori’s journey didn’t stop there. UPLIFT then brought her to the Be A Friend Program and matched her with a Volunteer Friend, Avis, to meet with once a month and foster a unique and genuine friendship. Lori, an outgoing and positive person with a refreshing outlook on life, found a perfect match in Avis. Avis is dedicated to helping formerly homeless individuals make friends in the community.
Lori and Avis are a wonderful example of how community support and friendship can transform lives, turning uncertainty into hope and create lasting connections.
