Blaze has had a challenging past where he has faced homelessness and endured mental health struggles. He found shelter and support with Urban Street Angels, began work at a cafe and joined the Be A Friend program. Rick, a former teacher, has formed a strong bond with Blaze over the past five months, leaning on the “do with, let do” philosophy taught in the training, while empowering Blaze to learn and master skills independently. This friendship is an experience unlike any Blaze has ever had before and is growing stronger every day. Together, they are looking forward to developing person-centered goals with the Personal Journey Plan and moving forward with their mutually impactful friendship.
Urban Street Angels mission is to end youth homelessness by providing supportive housing and job training opportunities to cultivate personal responsibility.
